Frequently Asked Questions

Does Rainbow Land work on my GPU?

Open Settings โ†’ Encoder in the studio. Rainbow Land auto-detects your GPU and shows which encoder it's using (NVENC for NVIDIA, AMF for AMD, Quick Sync for Intel). If no GPU is found it falls back to CPU encoding.

How do I set up TikTok streaming?

Go to your TikTok Live Studio at studio.tiktok.com, copy your Server URL and Stream Key, then paste them into Rainbow Land under Settings โ†’ Destinations โ†’ TikTok. Your key is stored locally only.

Does Rainbow Land collect my TikTok data?

No. Your TikTok stream key is stored on your local machine only. Rainbow Land has no servers โ€” your video stream goes directly from your PC to TikTok's RTMP servers. We never see your credentials or content. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

Why do I need ffmpeg?

Rainbow Land uses ffmpeg to encode your camera/screen into the H.264 format required by all RTMP streaming destinations. Download it from ffmpeg.org and add it to your PATH โ€” Rainbow Land will find it automatically.

Can I stream to multiple platforms at once?

Yes โ€” that's the whole point. Enable any combination of TikTok, YouTube, Twitch, Facebook, Rainbow Land, or a custom RTMP URL. Each destination runs in its own isolated thread so one platform's issues never affect the others.

Is Rainbow Land really free?

Yes, 100% free and open source (MIT License). No subscriptions, no feature tiers, no ads, no data selling. If you love it, you can support development via PayPal โ€” but it's entirely optional.

How do I add my own theme?

Copy any file from src/themes/ in the source code, edit the colors, gradients, overlays, and fonts, then add it to src/themes/index.js. Rebuild the app and your theme appears in Settings โ†’ Theme.
